Exams & Cleanings

Dr. Kent and her hygienists will provide thorough exams, and document your oral health with radiographs and recordings to evaluate your oral health at each visit. Your immediate and long-term treatment plans will be reviewed and adjusted as required.

Fillings, Bonding and Chip repairs

After diagnosing the need for fillings or chip repair, options will be provided to you regarding your treatment choices for the required restorations. Dr. Kent and her staff will take the time to educate you on your oral health needs and assist you with making good, long-term, successful restorations. This may include direct white fillings, crowns or inlays, bridges, veneers or implants.

Botox - Facial Rejuvenation

Unwanted facial lines and wrinkles can be erased safely, non-surgically, and effectively within a short appointment (10-15 minutes). Botox Cosmetic when injected can get rid of the lines on your face that make you look angry, stressed, and tired. It targets the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repeated muscular contractions, such as frowning and squinting. These zones are typically referred to as; the frown lines between your eyebrows, the crow's feet beside your eyes, and creases on the forehead. The effects can be seen as early as one to three days but maximal results occur between 10 and 14 days. The effect lasts typically up to 4 months, and you can go back to work or your normal activities immediately following the appointment. No downtime!!!

Botox cosmetic is a natural purified protein that relaxes muscles causing wrinkles, creating smoother and improved appearance. Restylane and Juvederm

Sun exposure, hormonal changes, smoking and aging can all have an impact on your skin's appearance. Over time, your skin begins to lose hyaluronic acid and collagen, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles, and a loss of fullness and elasticity. Facial lines that are deep and that are present throughout the day cannot be improved much by Botox Cosmetic. Botox cosmetic works on dynamic lines that are created by facial expressions. Deep lines that have been created over time need to be filled to flatten and smooth them. Fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm are used to be placed under the skin and fill in the folds and wrinkles to make them appear smoother and less noticeable. Restylaneand Juvederm injections are derived from hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found within the body that cushions ad lubricates soft connective tissue and fills in the space between collagen and elastin fibers. Hyaluronic injections have also been shown to stimulate collagen production. Also dental anesthetics can be used to freeze some soft tissue if necessary to eliminate any discomfort that some patients may experience. The most commonly reported side effects are temporary injection site redness, swelling, pain/tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps and bruising. Juvederm is the latest form of wrinkle filler made up of hylauronic acid.

TMJ and Grinding

Tired muscles, sore and cold sensitive teeth, temporal headaches and clicking are all indicative of bruxism or grind of the teeth. This problem can be a lifelong habit. Once a thorough diagnosis is completed, therapy and splints can be prescribed to support and stabilize the joint and associated structures.

Crowns, bridges and implants

After a thorough diagnosis, you may require treatment involving crowns, bridges or implants. Crowns are designed to cover your teeth to support the remaining tooth structure from breaking. They are usually planned to protect teeth with large existing fillings or root canals. Bridges are used to replace missing teeth. Implants also can be used to replace missing teeth. Implants are titanium structures that resemble roots. They are placed in the site where your tooth used to be. After healing and integration of the implant, a crown can be placed on the implant. Implants can be used to replace single, or multiple missing teeth.

Root canal therapy and extractions

Root canal therapy is performed for a variety of reasons. When a very large cavity reaches the middle of the tooth, or a break occurs exposing dentin, infection may result in the nerve or pulp of the tooth. Your body is unable to resolve this infection, and a dentist is required to clean and disinfect the internal portion of your tooth and its roots, thereby allowing healing and pain relief.

Extractions

Sometimes teeth that cannot be repaired (i.e. badly fractures teeth) they may need to be extracted. Also wisdom teeth, or third molars may need to be extracted due to lack of space or your inability to clean them. Dr Kent can assess whether an extraction is necessary and provide this service, or refer you to the appropriate specialist to have these procedures completed.
